Description
Dirce Körbes was born in Itapiranga, Santa Catarina. She graduated in Visual Arts from the UDESC Arts Center in Florianópolis, where she lives. Her career includes participation in symposia and fairs, as well as individual and collective exhibitions. She made solo and group shows in Florianópolis, at the Art and Communication Collective and at the Meyer Filho Gallery in ALESC, in 2013; at the MHSC in 2011 and 2008 and at MASC in 1991. She also exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Pernambuco and in Rome at the Galeria Tartaglia Arte in 2012; and the Parliament of Mainz, Germany, in 2010.
Among the among the group shows, the following stand out: the exhibition “Contemporary Brazilian photography (s): images, traces, noises” at MASC in Florianópolis, 2013; SIANOJA 2013 – International Symposium of Noja Artists, Spain; “Paint-a-future” project, with exhibitions in Appingedam and Amsterdam, Holland; two-person show “PAS DE DEX – DIRCE KÖRBES and MATTIE SCHILDERS” at Galerie Schortgen, Luxembourg; and works selected for the 3rd Salon International d ‘Art Contemporain in Esch-sur-Alzette in 2012. In 2010, she was invited to the No Boundaries International Art Colony, North Carolina, United States.
