Véio
Veio is a sculptor of the Sertão region of Sergipe. Self-taught, with the magic of the rich folklore popular northeastern, builds its creatures in wood. They are real characters and invented from his imagination. His work has already surpassed the Northeastern borders, as well as the stigma of the nickname of “Popular Art”.
Today, Véio occupies a prominent place in commercial and institutional spaces of Contemporary Art such as the Cartier Foundation of Paris. He had a solo show parallel to The Venice Biennal in 2016. In 2018 , he had a solo exhibition with more than 250 works at Itaú Cultural, São Paulo.
