Magliani
Magliani, Maria Lídia. She was born in Pelotas, RS, in 1946. She attended the Institute of Arts of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, with post-graduate studies in painting with Ado Malagoli. She made scenarios and costumes for theater, illustrations for books, magazines and newspapers such as Zero Hora in Porto Alegre and Folha de São Paulo. She has works in the collections of MARGS Ado Malagoli, Porto Alegre, in the MAM of São Paulo and in the Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo. She has participated in numerous conferences, salons and biennials in Brazil and abroad. She was honored at the 46th Salon de Abril in Fortaleza, CE, received an Honorable Mention in the Current Brazilian Art Panorama of the MAM of São Paulo in 1993 and made numerous solo shows with a total of 5 at Galeria Tina Zappoli.
Magliani passed away in 2012.
After her death , she has been receiving several homages as a street name in Porto Alegre, RS. Jaguarão’s UNIPAMPA Cultural Center name and was honored by Bienal do Mercosul Foundation with a solo exhibition at Multipalco, Teatro São Pedro, Porto Alegre.
