Antonio Poteiro

(Braga, Portugal 1925 – Goiania, Brazil, 2010) He came to Brazil with 1 year old and he is considered one of the masters of The Brazilian Naïf Painting . Started making Art as a craftsman  making dolls and pots, from where came his artistic name: Poteiro.  Encouraged by the artists Siron Franco and Cleber Gouveia, he started painting in 1972 . In 1985, received the Sculpture Premium from the Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte. In 1987, received the Commendation Oficialato da ordem do Mérito from the Portuguese Govern.
