Véio is a sculptor in Sertão de Sergipe. Self-taught, with the magic of the rich folklore popular northeastern, builds its creatures in wood. They are real characters and invented from their rich imagination. His work has already surpassed the Northeastern borders, as well as the stigma of the nickname of “Popular Art”.
Today, Véio occupies a prominent place in commercial and institutional spaces of Contemporary Art such as the Cartier Foundation of Paris. He currently has an individual at the Venice Biennale, at SESC in Santo Amaro, São Paulo, and participates in the 10th Mercosul Biennial.
