Cabral
Antônio Hélio Cabral was born in Marília, state of São Paulo, in 1948. Painter, draftsman, engraver, sculptor, teacher and architect. He came to São Paulo at the age of 10 with his parents and began his artistic activities in the backyard making playful puppets with objects found at random.
His artistic training is quite eclectic, but the most important are the coexistence with Antônio Carelli and Raphael Galvez. As a teacher, he coordinated and ministered the art workshops of the Lasar Segall Museum and taught drawing and painting at the Pinacoteca do Estado de SP. He has been participating in numerous important biennials and salons and held important solo exhibitions in the most renowned Brazilian museums and galleries and also abroad and his works, today, make up the collection of great institutions and cultural centers of Brazil. Cabral, currently, is mainly engaged in painting, but also invests his ideas in drawings, engravings, sculptures and objects that value the aesthetics of the found.
