Luiz Antônio da Silva

In 1935, Luiz Antônio da Silva was born in the village of Alto do Moura, in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco. With a potter mother, he learns to model the clay, but attributes his professional initiation to Master Vitalino, with whom he improves the technique. He marries Odete, with whom he has nine children. In addition to creating regional types, he specialized in the representation of urban themes, especially related to the progress and the use of machines. His works are easily identified, since he invented scenes and types that had never existed before, among which stand out: the photographer, electricians repairing transformers, automobiles, iron train, etc…
